SF State is committed to leadership in sustainability. These commitments and guidelines provide a framework for our actions:

Climate Action Plan

SF State's Climate Action Plan sets greenhouse gas emissions targets and sustainability goals for the campus. SF State is a signatory to the Second Nature Carbon Commitment. More information on SF State's Climate Commitments.

Zero Waste at SF State

SF State has a goal of 75% Waste Diversion by 2010 with a goal of Zero Waste by 2020. Learn more about waste reduction at SF State.

CSU Executive Order 987

 Executive Order 987 is the CSU Policy Statement on Energy Conservation, Sustainable Building Practices, and Physical Plant Management. This document sets minimum efficiency standards for new construction and renovations.
